 PREAMBLE

Energy is the major driving force for the economy of any nation. Electric motor driven systems used in industrial processes consume 66 percent of all electricity used in Indian industry, according to the report given by Department of Energy. The industrial motor electricity consumption could be reduced considerably if companies were to apply “Proven Efficiency Technologies and Practices”. The purpose of FDP is intended to address energy saving opportunities using efficient drives and their controllers. This program provides a platform for researchers, practitioners and educators to present and discuss the most recent innovations, trends and concerns as well as practical challenges encountered and solutions adopted in the fields of Energy Efficiency, Electrical Drives and Control.
